Gwen Hurt is the founder of Shoe Crazy Wine. Prior to launching Shoe Crazy Wine, Gwen was
an executive for a Fortune 500 Tech Company based in Asia. In 2013 hardship struck. Gwen
was downsized by the company in which she had spent 15 plus years and two days later was in
a car accident. During physical therapy and rehabilitation, Gwen made the decision to “NOT”
succumb to her circumstances. She told her daughter Brittny “we are going into the wine
business.” When a name was needed for her wines, Brittny said, “name it something you love”.
Gwen loved and was crazy about shoes.

In 2014, her two passions melded to become The Shoe Crazy Wine Company. And when Gwen
couldn’t get a distributor for her wines, she made Shoe Crazy a wine distribution
company. For every “no,” she was determined to get a “yes” eventually. All her work and
dedication have led to Shoe Crazy Wine now being available in VA, NC, PA, MD, SC, FL, GA, TN’
AL and MS with more states to come. She has built relationships with several retailers
including Food Lion, Target, Total Wine & More, Walmart, Army Exchange, The Coast Guard,
Navy Exchanges, and many wine shops, liquor stores, and restaurants in the Southeast.
In 2021, after surviving the Covid pandemic shut down, Gwen realized that she could continue
to grow her company by pivoting to Spirits. She officially added spirits, whiskey ladies’
moonshines in 2022 and CBD/THC Infused Cocktails in 2024.
Gwen completed Goldman Sach 10K Small Business Program, Executive Management Program
from Tuck School of Business. Gwen was named one of the 2024 INC 250 Female Founders.
Perseverance, tenacity, faith, and family are paramount. Gwen believes in these core values.
